York & George
York & George brings a distinctive sculptural presence to the Sydney CBD, with its shifting floor plates and vertical folds creating a refined, Jenga-like silhouette across the skyline. Within this high-rise environment, the architects sought a window system that could support natural ventilation for the winter gardens while maintaining the clean, contemporary language of the façade. Safetyline Jalousie louvres were selected for their ability to deliver controlled airflow without compromising the building’s architectural expression or the strict performance requirements associated with high-rise construction.
Installed across balconies and podium levels, the louvres integrate seamlessly into the tower’s design, providing ventilation, comfort and fall-prevention compliance in areas where conventional window types were unsuitable. Their engineered sealing and laminated glass address wind and water pressures at height, while preserving the project’s commitment to openness, light and refined urban living. The result is a facade solution that reinforces the building’s design intent—enhancing comfort and livability while supporting a bold architectural form.
