Mowbray Road Public School has updated its facilities to meet the demands of modern teaching and make sustainability a functional component of the new design.
Working together with architects Metro Building Consultancy and construction team AW Edwards, two three-storey buildings were completed as an extension of the main building.
Safetyline Jalousie louvres were chosen to provide passive ventilation and air infiltration throughout the classroom spaces.
The upgrade focused on lowering the school’s carbon footprint. As Safetyline Jalousie louvres seal six times better than glass on glass louvres, they will stop leakage when air conditioning is in use and help direct air flow when it is not. Optimising natural lighting was also a consideration in the new facility layout.
Safetyline Jalousie louvres are now providing accommodating thermal performance and comfort in these upgraded spaces.
Safetyline Jalousie participates in a series of industry networking events and trade shows across Australia each year.
