The Adina Pentridge Hotel transforms one of Melbourne’s most significant heritage sites into a contemporary accommodation precinct, with a new tower designed by Cox Architecture providing a refined contrast to the original bluestone buildings. Safetyline Jalousie’s SJ Proteger louvres were incorporated into this modern addition to support natural ventilation and complement the clean, contemporary lines of the façade while respecting the site’s layered history.
Within the building’s circulation spaces, the SJ Proteger system also operates as Natural Smoke and Heat Ventilators (NSHV), ensuring clear egress paths in the event of a fire. Their streamlined profiles integrate seamlessly with the tower’s architectural expression, reinforcing the project’s balance of heritage character and modern design.
