Safetyline Jalousie has launched its latest CPD offering for architects and design professionals:
Understanding and Respecting Country – Nature, People and Design Considerations

Architecture in Australia is inherently tied to Country — the land, skies, waters, and the communities who have cared for it for generations. As the profession moves toward more inclusive and culturally responsive design, there is a growing need to engage more deeply with First Nations knowledge, values, and perspectives.
This CPD has been developed to support architects in embedding a Country-centred design approach in their projects. More than just a methodology, Designing for Country represents a meaningful opportunity to reconnect, respect, and collaborate — creating spaces that reflect identity, community, and shared stewardship.
Presented by Safetyline Jalousies Sustainability & Specification Manager, Margaux Bonne, this one-hour session (eligible for 1 formal CPD point) explores how nature, people, and design intersect within the context of Country and how architects can lead more culturally aware and responsive practices. It also outlines a framework for engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples meaningfully throughout the design process and evaluates how this approach can support health, wellbeing, and culturally connected outcomes for Country.
