Safetyline Jalousie is proud to be supporting the Tiny Homes Foundation with what is considered to be Australia’s first approved tiny home project. The pilot project located next to Gosford Hospital on the NSW Central Coast consists of four tiny homes, a common lounge, a common laundry/workshop and community vegetable garden. It will provide those experiencing homelessness a space to call their own, which includes necessities such as toilets, shower, bed and kitchenette facilities.
NBRSARCHITECTURE has designed the single-occupancy units, carefully selecting products and building materials that can be prefabricated or flat packed for easy assembly with simple tools and no requirement for specialised building skills. Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows are supplied framed, glazed and assembled, ready to install into the openings. Each home is designed around passive solar principles to maximise year-round thermal comfort. The louvre windows provide natural ventilation whilst also meeting the security, performance and durability requirements.
